S6 First World War Poets workshop

On Wednesday 26th of October a workshop was organized at the school for all students of the S6 English history course. During the workshop, the students were taken through the war years, through the eyes of three main poets: Rupert Brooke, Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon.

The workshop was interactive and the students  “acted” with the professional actors and become First World War soldiers and poets.

The First World War Poets is designed as a workshop where students will be asked to examine how the horrors of the First World War affected the language, tone and mood of poetry and why the attitude of the poets changed as the war progressed.

The workshop was organized by Phileas Fogg Theatre Company and was a great success.
